Recap: Opium Protocol has closed a $3.25 million funding round
A few weeks ago Opium Team announced the closing of a successful funding round, with top backers from the industry. We’re very proud of our backers and they will bring more value to the project besides funds.
The funds will be used to further build and nurture a professional ecosystem for decentralized analogues of financial derivatives. In addition to closing this funding round, Opium Team welcomed Stani Kulechov (Aave) as an official advisor to the team. Read the full announcement below!
Announcement of decentralized governance and $OPIUM token
Last month we shared our vision on decentralization for decentralized financial protocols such as Opium Protocol. Ever since we started the project we intended to eventually hand over responsibility over the Opium Protocol to the community. The process towards full decentralization will be gradual. This marks the start of an exciting journey for the Opium project, which will also include the token generation event for the $OPIUM governance token. Read the full post below!

DeFi panel @ ETHBerlin’s virtual crypto talkshow TwoPointFive
Opium Team member Deniz was part of this year’s organizing committee and set up a DeFi panel with top speakers such as Opium founder Andrey Belyakov, Aave’s Stani Kulechov, Melon Protocol’s Mona El Isa, UMA’s Clayton Roche and DODO’s Diane Dai. The panel was hosted by our dear friend Yama Zhang—working for Three Arrows Capital and founder of the CryptoTonight podcast.
