This Thursday (February 4, ~00:00 UTC) an upgrade is being deployed with a major protocol improvement. During this time, which is expected to take up to several hours, users may be unable to interact with the protocol, including using Staking, Mintr, Kwenta, or Synthetix.Exchange, and transferring SNX or Synths.
Here’s what is included in this release:
- SIP-101: New crypto Synths — This SIP involves adding several new cryptocurrency Synths and their corresponding Inverse Synths for the following assets: AAVE (AAVE), Uniswap (UNI), Yearn (YFI), Polkadot (DOT), REN (REN), Compound (COMP).
- SIP-108: Shorting rewards — SIP-108 incentivises users with SNX rewards from the synthetixDAO to open shorts against sBTC and sETH. (pending community SIP approval)
- SIP-109: Add Synth exchange suspension support — This SIP adds support for the restriction of specific Synth exchanges during market closures without preventing them from being transferred. (pending community SIP approval).
This release is called ‘Bellatrix,’ which like all releases is named after a star (in order of visual magnitude). If you’ve got any comments or questions about the release, please come join the conversation in Discord.
